Install guide

Install LeadScrapper in two minutes.

LeadScrapper is a Chrome extension you load yourself. Unzip it, switch on Developer mode, click Load unpacked and pin it. Then type a business type, pick your cities, and export the leads to CSV.

Install the extension.

  1. 1

    Download the extension file

Use the download button on your order confirmation page or in your purchase email. It is a single ZIP file.

  2. 2

    Unzip the folder

On Windows right-click the ZIP and choose Extract All. On a Mac double-click it. Keep the unzipped folder somewhere permanent, such as Documents, because Chrome loads the extension from that folder.

  3. 3

    Open Manage extensions in Chrome

In any Chrome profile, open the menu, choose Extensions, then Manage extensions. You can also type chrome://extensions in the address bar.

  4. 4

    Turn on Developer mode

Switch on the Developer mode toggle in the top right corner of the Extensions page. Three new buttons appear, including Load unpacked.

  5. 5

Click Load unpacked and select the folder

Choose the LeadScraper folder you unzipped in step 2 (the one that contains manifest.json). The extension appears in your list straight away as Lead Grabber.

  6. 6

Pin it and open the dashboard

Click the puzzle icon in the toolbar and pin Lead Grabber so it is one click away. Click the icon to open the dashboard in Chrome's side panel.

Watch it, start to finish.

4:28 with no cuts: install, a realtor search in Reno, Nevada, and the CSV download.

Run your first lead list.

  1. 1. Pick a source

Choose Google Maps for any niche (dentists, mortgage brokers, plumbers, gyms) or realtor.com for real estate agents.

  2. 2. Type the business you want

Enter a search term such as mortgage broker, dentist or roofing contractor, exactly as you would search Google Maps.

  3. 3. Choose the state and cities

Pick a state, then either Add All to take every city or Clear and select just the cities you want.

  4. 4. Switch on emails and socials

Scroll down and turn on Find emails and socials. Turn on Facebook too if you want Facebook page details as well.

  5. 5. Start grabbing

Press Start grabbing. If Chrome shows a permission popup, click Allow. Leads appear in progress as they are found.

  6. 6. Export your list

Open the Leads section, choose the Business or Contact view (one person per row), then export to CSV, Excel or JSON.

Install problems, solved.

Why does Chrome ask for Developer mode?

LeadScrapper is delivered as a file you load yourself rather than through the Chrome Web Store. Developer mode is the Chrome setting that allows that. It only affects extensions you load by hand.

The extension disappeared after I moved or deleted the folder.

Chrome runs the extension from the unzipped folder. Put the folder back, or unzip it again somewhere permanent, then click Load unpacked once more.

Load unpacked says the manifest file is missing.

You selected the outer folder. Open it and select the inner folder that contains manifest.json.

Why is it called Lead Grabber in Chrome?

Lead Grabber is the extension's name inside Chrome. It is the same LeadScrapper product you bought.

Which browsers does it work in?

Chrome 114 or later, and Chromium browsers that support the same side panel, such as Edge and Brave.
